6/ Flashback to season 1
Tèrra Aventura first started in May 2011: it was an original way to discover Limousin’s heritage, based on geocaching.
Its aim was to boost Tourism in Limousin by offering new experiences to tourists who were looking for fun new activities.
Let’s look back on season 1 and the success it had!
Tèrra Aventura season 1, a few numbers:
- 30 caches (30 quests all over the Limousin region)
- 8 types of Poï’z ( 8 themes, such as know-how, history, water…)
- 30.000 visitors on the www.terra-aventura.fr website.
- 3.000 treasures found (over 10.000 Poï’z who found a home on tee-shirts, backpacks and caps) by geocachers of all ages !
- Over a thousand fans on facebook (1.500 comments and over 350 photos)
- Dozens of press articles commending the concept for its originality, its singularity and its addictiveness!

« 1st May, terrific weather… it was a great occasion for us to take a walk in the Châteauponsac area. Beautiful views, a pretty village and an enjoyable walk which led us to the cache (The Tèrra Aventura container was so full it was about to burst… lots of geocachers had been there before us and had left things behind, maybe it’s time to empty it a bit ! hihi :p) »
« Châteauponsac, a beautiful backdrop for this "Village Français" (also the name of a French TV series) where we became the actors of our own treasure hunting film! (…) Excellent afternoon; each member of the 3 generations represented by our family brought his/her own contribution to the quest ! That alone is a “treasure”!
These testimonies and the thousands of other accounts on terra-aventura.fr and geocaching.com are what made us decide to renew the adventure and launch season 2 !
